Liu Qiang's '29h59'59

A seemingly adaptation of Romulus and Remus image of the brothers suckling their saviour: Lupa or a she-wolf. Liu Qiang titled this as 29h59'59, on exhibition at the 798 Art District in Beijing, China: Depicting "wretched masses of humanity suckling on the plump teats of a feral animal who growls at the hungry hordes yet accedes to their wanton thirst."

Diagonal Crossing at Oxford Circus

Opened in London in Nov 2009 to help pedestrians crossing this busy intersection on Oxford & Regents Streets. This was reportedly patterned after Tokyo [particularly the busy Shibuya crossing]. As in Sydney's Town Hall crossing [along George St.]; this crossing stops all traffic in all directions at once, thus 'allowing to handle double the number of pedestrians.'  Photo from here.
